There are two competition categories:
1. Workplace Competition, where workplaces compete for the highest ratio of participation days relative to the total number of employees.
2. Kilometre Competition, where teams compete for total kilometres and average kilometres per team member.
Workplace Competition
The Workplace Competition is divided into eight categories based on the total number of employees: 3–9 employees, 10–19 employees, 20–39 employees, 40–69 employees, 70–129 employees, 130–399 employees, 400–799 employees, 800+ employees
All workplaces and their teams are automatically entered into this competition. In each category, recognition plaques are awarded to the top three workplaces with the highest participation ratio. Calculation Example: A workplace has 100 employees. 60 of them participate and collectively log 680 cycling days during the challenge. Participation ratio = 680 days / 100 employees = 6.8 days per employee. Note: Although kilometres are logged in the Workplace Competition, there is no competition for kilometre ratio within workplaces this year.
Kilometre Competition (Team Competition)
In the Kilometre Competition, teams compete in a single category for:
• total kilometres, and
• average kilometres per team member.
Teams may choose whether or not to participate in this competition.
To register, the team leader checks the box “Participate in kilometre competition” during team registration.
Important: • Minimum team size:• Maximum team size: 10 • A team will not appear in the kilometre ranking until at least 3 members are registered.
Teams can also register for the Kilometre Competition later by checking the “We participate in the kilometre competition” box on the team management page.
Awards are given to the top three teams for: • total kilometres, and • average kilometres per team member.
A total of six awards are therefore presented.
Calculation: Under “Total Distance,” the system shows the total kilometres logged by the team. Under “KM Ratio,” the system displays average kilometres per team member:
KM Ratio = Total KM / number of team members. More information on competition categories can be found under:
